Co-Editor in Chief: Acacia Philcox
Acacia is a fourth-year student majoring in Political Science with a minor in International Relations. Her primary academic focus is the politics of international law; notably the governance and armament of outer space. In addition, Acacia is interested in the rise of BRICS nations, global trade and theories of IR. Outside of her studies, Acacia enjoys watercolour painting, muay thai & kickboxing and spending time with her dog.

Tanisha is a fourth-year student from Vancouver majoring in Political Science, and minoring in International Relations. She is very interested in political journalism, and security studies, specifically peacekeeping and conflict resolution. Outside of UBC, Tanisha enjoys attending workout classes, trying new cafes, and reading!

Cedric is a fourth-year B+MM student majoring in International Relations (international economy and development). His primary academic focus is on finding connections between Asia and North America, stemming from his career and life experience in both continents. Deborah Wong
Deborah is a fifth-year International Relations major with a minor in Asian Canadian and Asian Migration Studies. Her areas of academic interests include cultural heritage conservation, public diplomacy and decolonial studies. She also finds critical media studies and deep dives into Asian diasporic history invigorating areas of research. In her free time, Deborah enjoys critiquing Vancouver's best matcha spots and going on walks in sunny Vancouver weather.

Erika is a third-year student majoring in International Relations and Philosophy. Her main academic interest is political theory, especially relating to Marxism and revolutions in the Global South. Geographically, she specializes in Latin American history and politics. Outside of school, she enjoys cross country skiing, running, and all types of iced coffee

Louise Ziegler
Louise is a fourth-year International Relations student, with a minor in Law and Society. Her primary academic focus lies in diplomacy, security studies, and more recently international economic development. While originally from France, she is particularly interested in Asian politics and its integration to the international order, which stems from her childhood years in India and China. In her free time, she loves to read and spend time with friends on campus.

Montse Avendaño
Montse is a fourth-year student at UBC, majoring in International Relations with a minor in Law and Society. Originally from Mexico City, she has a deep passion for humanitarian and social justice issues. As Vice President of the International Relations Student Association (IRSA), Montse actively fosters community and intellectual engagement on campus. Her love for travel and experiencing new cultures has broadened her global perspective, and she aspires to live and work in diverse international settings. Montse is driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact through her work in social justice and diplomacy.

Jake Yuen
Jake is a fifth-year student double majoring in International Relations and Political Science. His current academic foci include environmental governance and sustainability, with a particular interest in the convergence of geopolitical dynamics and environmental conflict. Additionally, Jake seeks to explore the complexities of international power politics through foreign security issues, state formulation and development. Outside of his studies, Jake is an avid athlete competing with the UBC Men’s Ultimate Frisbee Team, and enjoys immersing himself in BC’s beauty as an outdoorsman.

Khushi is a fourth-year student double majoring in International Relations and Anthropology. She has academic interests in conflict resolution, global health, and international human rights. She is also interested in women's studies -- specifically, women in the Global South. In her free time, Khushi enjoys reading, walking, and trying new cuisines.

Landon is a fourth-year Political Science major and Philosophy minor. He has a deep passion for political philosophies and international diplomacy, specifically in decolonial contexts. Landon is originally from San Francisco, where the city’s political polarization inspired his path toward political studies and social justice. Maryam Aboukhatwa
Maryam is a third-year Political Science + Law and Society Co-op student at UBC, with academic interests in Canadian Politics and International Relations. She is currently on a co-op placement as a Trade Commissioner Assistant at Global Affairs Canada. Her experiences include roles in communication, outreach, research, and administration. Outside of school and work, Maryam enjoys spending time with friends and family as well as exploring new food spots around the city.

Michelle is a fourth-year student from Vancouver majoring in International Relations. Her academic interest rests on a framework of holistic sustainability that spans social, economic, cultural, technological, and political dimensions. Michelle envisions a future where international collaboration thrives by challenging fear-mongering narratives of manufactured incompatibility, placing collective humanity as a top priority. Outside of school, Michelle loves collecting – she has an impressive collection of unplayed Steam games and unread books.

Rebeca Ponce
Rebeca is a fourth-year at UBC, majoring in International Relations and minoring in Law and Society. Being raised and born in Monterrey Mexico, Rebeca has developed a keen passion for topics such as state sovereignty, modern day impact from colonialism and human rights advocacy. Her role as Associate VP External for the International Relations Student Association has allowed her to broaden her sense of community on campus. In her free time she enjoys practicing yoga, listening to music and discovering new restaurants in Vancouver.

Sama is a fourth-year student from Egypt studying International Relations. She is passionate about humanitarian law, security studies, public and regional diplomacy, and economic and trade relations in wartime. Her primary interests are Middle Eastern politics and the region's integration into the international order, specifically their recent invitation to the BRICS bloc. Outside of academics, Sama loves to travel the world and explore different cultures and cuisines with family and friends. She also enjoys reading, playing volleyball, and reformer pilates.

Vanessa Lolomari
Vanessa is a fourth-year student in the UBC-Sciences Po Dual Degree, majoring in International Relations, with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies. She spent her first two years of university in the South of France, where she became an advocate for the European refugee crisis. Recently, she completed a thesis examining International Law against the backdrop of human rights violations in Greece and Italy.
